Riots broke out in Athens and Thessaloniki after marches in memory of Alexandros Grigoropoulos.
After the end of the march, tensions arose in Thessaloniki when a group of unknown assailants attacked police with Molotov cocktails, who responded by throwing stun grenades.
At the same time, in Exarchia, unknown persons set fire to garbage cans and set up barricades.
Earlier, a demonstration dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos ended in the center of Athens, with the central slogan “We haven’t said the last word yet, these days are Alexis days.”ultra-left and anarchist organizations and collectives gathered shortly after 18:00 on the Propylaea, and shortly after 19:00 began the procession to parliament.
Shortly before the end of the march, some of the demonstrators headed to Exarchia, where a rally is planned in front of the monument to Alexandros Grigoropoulos at the intersection of Tzavella and Messolongio streets.
