A holiday basket, price reductions and a number of discounts on goods and products were the focus of a meeting held with representatives of the Hellenic Supermarket Association (ESE) by Development Minister Kostas Skrekas and Trade Secretary General Sotiris Anagnostopoulos.
The list of products that will be included in the “Christmas Basket” is expected to be announced in the coming days. According to the Ministry of Development, the number of goods included in permanent price reduction programreached 931, while the leadership of the ministry states that the list of items is constantly expanding.
This year, the Ministry of Development is bringing back the Christmas Basket, which is expected to include certain items at low prices, including turkey, beef, vasilopita and sweets such as chocolate and others.
In fact, the detailed product list will be announced by mid-December, as it is planned to come into effect from Wednesday, December 12, 2023 and will last until January 3, 2024. Like last year, everyone will definitely participate in the Christmas Basket promotion supermarkets with a turnover of more than 90 million euros. At the same time, discussions began about a “Santa Claus basket” with toys for small children.
