Turkish border guards prevented FETÖ members from escaping to Greece

Turkish border forces detained a group of six people trying to cross the border into Greece. Two of them turned out to be members of the terrorist organization FETÖ.

“Our border units detained six people who tried to illegally cross from our country to Greece. As a result of the investigation, it was established that two of the captured persons are members of the terrorist organization FETÖ,” the Turkish Ministry of Defense informed.

The question of why the coup was not prevented remains open.

In addition to the fact that Erdogan managed to avoid any harm from his ill-wishers, the authorities managed to keep the main broadcasting points under control. During the coup, the president called on citizens on television to suppress the coup. People took to the streets, blocking the way for tanks and risking their lives.

Followers of Gülen (FETÖ) position themselves as a social, cultural and educational movement. By self-definition, the Gulenists are a civil association for the secular and religious education of children. The movement is called “Hizmet”, which means “service”, and aims to raise a new generation of Muslims who will serve society. In various sources, the movement emphasizes its own commitment to pacifist views and cultural and educational orientation.

The Turkish authorities have a different definition of this organization. The publication YeniSafak gives the following definition: “FETÖ” (pron. “feto/-e”), standing out among all other modern terrorist groups with its organizational methods, ultimately attempted to seize power in the Republic of Turkey. The true goals of the FETÖ organization, which began its activities in the 1970s as a religious community and launched a bloody coup attempt on the night of July 15, 2016, are revealed to us in a retrospective analysis.

Ontology “FETÖ”

The Fetullah terrorist organization, which has existed for 40 years and uses various methods to achieve its selfish goals, is included in official documentation as a “terrorist organization.” Despite the fact that this organization, from the 1980s until the end of 2013, functioned as a “legal community,” it was fundamentally different in its activities and pursued policies from other groups and communities, and therefore most of them stayed away from her.

Since the formation of the organization, whose leader Fethullah Gülen, unlike other groups, was in close ties with politics, books, speeches, instructions, guidelines and goal-setting leadership of the Sohbet special forces played an effective role in shaping the foundations of the organization’s leadership. “Conversation”). In this regard, the FETÖ organization has actually become the embodiment of the activities and leadership of Fethullah Gülen. F. This installation placed Gülen in an exclusive, unquestionable position, which allowed him to give instructions that were closed to discussion. Thus, the activities of the “religious community” were reduced to the existence of the leader Gülen and absolute loyalty to him.

The invented myth of “loyalty to the leader” nullified any doubts about the goals and framework set by Gülen. Over time, after a certain mass was gathered around Gülen, guided by his ideas, the role assigned to the leader changed. In this context, Gülen became the cult of the “messiah” among those who swore an oath of allegiance to him. In turn, thanks to Gülen’s leadership, the organization began to stand out and place itself above other religious communities. It began to perceive itself as a “special group”, since its members followed, according to their own beliefs, the outstanding personality of their leader, Gülen. In this regard, within the organization, being a member was considered a privilege and a special position.

Since its creation, FETÖ, while different from other religious groups in many aspects, has also differed from the typical community in the methods it pursues. Taking part in formally legal affairs and actions, over time the organization began to use these efforts for its own purposes and, acquiring more and more new opportunities, strengthened its position.

From this point of view, it can be noted that the 40-year historical background of the organization has common aspects with missionary work. The formation, which spread both in Turkey and in many countries around the world, tried to increase its power through its strategies. Having achieved wide connections in politics, education, business and media in many countries, FETÖ attempted to transform itself into an organization of large-scale force.

The greatest attention was paid to “secrecy.” Members of the organization carried out plans to achieve their goals in complete confidentiality. External inaccessibility, the use of encryption methods, as well as pseudonyms for most members of the group, from the very bottom to the top, the selection of candidates for special tasks taking into account the criteria of “FETÖ” – all this made the group exceptional in terms of its methods of organization even from the beginning of its activities.

In its methods of organization, FETÖ resembles Freemasonry, and in its tactics, it resembles the formation structure of Hassan Sabbah in Alamut Castle. The head of FETÖ Gülen, on the one hand, building a base for himself through the exploitation of religion and conducting active propaganda, like Hassan Sabbah, on the other hand, managed to gather a large mass of supporters. At one time, Hasan Sabbah, who organized a team of assassins and carried out assassinations on important persons of the Seljuk state with the aim of capturing it, sought to ensure that his supporters received important ranks in the ranks of significant government officials. Thus, having gathered significant forces to himself, Sabbah eventually achieved recognition by his supporters as a prophet.
