Help for Gaza: meeting of the High Cooperation Council of Greece and Cyprus today

Today, November 10 at 12:00, a meeting of the High Council of Cooperation between Greece and Cyprus will be held at Megaros Maximos with the participation of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Nikos Christodoulides. The dominant issue is humanitarian aid to Gaza through the opening of sea routes.

During an international conference in Paris, the Greek Prime Minister noted his intention to provide Gaza with all possible assistance:

“We strongly support President Christodoulides’ proposal to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza. The Cyprus proposal is well thought out.”

Kyriakos Mitsotakis explained: “The most difficult thing is to determine a suitable landing zone in the south of Gaza, create the necessary port infrastructure and, of course, ensure the safety of route N. If these conditions are met, Greece will be ready to provide ships to help in this project and will count on assistance all participants, especially those who know the geography of the region in much more detail.”

In addition to the pressing issue of opening sea routes for humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave, the agenda of the meeting will include the Cyprus issue, economic and migration issues, writes CNN Greece. The meeting will be followed by joint statements by the two leaders.
