In the Black Sea, the ferry “Slavyanin” under the Russian flag received a hole on its side after a collision near the Bulgarian Cape Shabla with the ship New Raouf under the flag of Palau.
About the incident reports Center for Transport Strategies with a link to data resource Vesselfinder. The New Raouf has continued its journey towards Turkey and is located near the entrance to the Bosphorus. The Russian ferry, when three ballast tanks were flooded, tilted and returned to the Bulgarian port of Varna.
The ferry “Slavyanin” has been running on the Varna-Caucasus line for about 10 years, transporting railway tanks. Vesselfinder notes: It is unclear what the ship was doing near Shabla/Tulenovo, since the line to the port of Caucasus runs in a straight line in a more easterly direction, while the Russian ship was moving somewhat to the north.
