Police detained a 30-year-old primary school physical education teacher at Aspropyrgos after parents complained that he was “molesting their children.”
A physical education teacher was detained yesterday morning, 6/11, as part of an autoforo (caught red-handed), on charges of violating Article 337 of the Criminal Code “Systematic actions of a sexual nature” carried out by a teacher against students.
According to the information, the defendant submitted a report stating that he has a 67% disability (has Asperger’s syndrome). The Aspropyrgos Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation. The case has been transferred to the prosecutor’s office.
Yesterday, an hour before the arrest of the physical teacher, the parents of several students gathered near the school, because they were informed that the teacher allegedly often bullies minor students during classes.
According to police sources, the parents said the older child testified that the teacher “put her little sister between his legs and lifted her T-shirt” to examine her chest area under the pretext of “seeing where she was scratched (hit).”
The parent also allegedly alleged that the teacher in question frequently gropes/pinches (makes tactile contact) children. Another parent allegedly claimed to have received complaints from several children that during a physical education class, the teacher in question kept them outside, kept them in the gym, and “messed with” (touched and tickled) them against their will.
