Greece: driver dies at the wheel, bus hangs over a precipice

The KTEL Arcadia bus only miraculously did not fall off a cliff when the driver lost consciousness at the wheel. He was later found dead.

A tragic accident occurred last night in Lagadia, the bus was traveling along the route Ηραία – Τρίπολη. There was only one passenger inside the bus (according to other sources, there were two passengers), who, fortunately, managed to get out, but she is in a state of severe shock.

By data edition arcadiaportal.gr, the bus driver felt unwell and, stopping the vehicle, went out into the fresh air for a few minutes. After that, he returned and the bus moved on, but suddenly the man lost consciousness. The bus continued moving and stopped, hovering over the cliff. It later became known that the bus driver died while driving.

Ambulances, firefighters and police arrived at the scene. Emergency services prevented the bus from falling into the abyss.
