Influencers in the sights of tax authorities

Influencers have been targeted by the Ministry of Development and tax authorities ΑΑΔΕ, with the tax office dusting off a number of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

In particular, the Ministry of Development is investigating whether content creators comply with consumer laws, and tax authorities are looking for undeclared and hidden income.

Checks are carried out in two directions: firstly, reviewing influencer posts that contain testimonials, reviews or posts that could mislead consumers, influence their purchasing behavior and cause financial harm, and secondly, reviewing how clearly influencers communicate their identity to their followers and contact information for your company. But in fact, tax officials are looking for sources of hidden income of the above persons…

“Everyone sets their own price”

“I am considered an advertising service or a freelancer, – says “FIlio_lou”, aka Filio Tsinoglou, a professional influencer, in a conversation with MEGA. – Seven years ago I began the process of discovering everything that was needed to legally and properly run this part of the business.”

U “FIlio_lou”who is a mother and creates content mainly for parents, promoting products that both themselves and their children like, has 340 thousand subscribers, and, according to her, the price of some advertising is determined by the influencer himself:

“There are different packages, everyone sets a price they think is worthy, depending on how much they do and how many clicks they get. The fee depends on the influencer himself. The more followers a person has, the more he can choose the content he creates, with prices per post starting “from 100 euros to 7,000 euros.”

As for the income you can get per month

“It can range from 1,000 to 100,000 euros per month.” It should be noted that the list includes mainly people popular among young people, artists, presenters, models, athletes, but mainly those who from the very beginning gain their audience through platforms (for example, TikTok) and then through traditional media.
