Dendias on the war between Israel and Hamas: "We hope that the crisis will be resolved in the best possible way

Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias, in his statements after a meeting in Thessaloniki with the Minister of Defense of Cyprus Michael Giorgallas in the presence of Deputy Minister of Macedonia and Thrace Stathis Konstantinidis, mentioned the war between Israel and Hamas, and expressed hope that this crisis can be resolved in the best possible way.

“I was very pleased today, on the day of St. Demetrius, to welcome here in Thessaloniki, together with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Macedonia and Thrace, my friend – the Minister of Defense of Cyprus. It is very important and very interesting that we had the opportunity to review the conditions in our region, – Nikos Dendias said. – As you know, Greece and Cyprus are on the perimeter of a new crisis in the Middle East. You understand that there are very important issues that need to be discussed and on which there must be a common understanding and mutual understanding. We look forward to the best possible resolution to this crisis.

I would like to emphasize once again that Greece has taken a clear position regarding the new crisis in the Middle East, including through the Prime Minister. Terrorism, terrorist attacks, massacres of civilians cannot be tolerated. And we also consistently declare that Hamas’s attacks on Israel and, in particular, on Israeli civilians serve the Palestinian cause and the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people in the worst possible way.”

The Cypriot Defense Minister is in Thessaloniki to take part in three days of celebrations dedicated to St. Demetrius, the liberation of the city from Turkish rule and the national anniversary of “OXI”.
