Missing Israelis found dead in Gaza Strip (video)

As the Israeli military advanced into the Gaza Strip, they found the bodies of some of their missing citizens.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the IDF says there are at least 120 civilians being held captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip:

“At this time, the IDF has confirmed that more than 120 civilians are being held captive in the Gaza Strip by the terrorist organization Hamas.”

Israeli troops carried out localized raids in the Gaza Strip, searching for hostages and collecting evidence to find people captured by Hamas, the Israel Defense Forces said Friday. Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, vowed on television to “destroy” Hamas and said the Israeli counteroffensive in Gaza was “just the beginning.”

The publication reports that the bodies were found last night as the 7th Brigade advanced towards the border. The number of deaths has not been specified. The brigade, according to the publication, surrounded the area, found the bodies and transported them to Israeli territory, writes CNN Greece.

The Israeli military said yesterday it carried out its first ground operation in the Gaza Strip, where it is expected to carry out a large-scale raid aimed at eliminating the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas. According to his representative, the goal was to “cleanse” the territories “of terrorists and weapons.”

Hamas’ military arm, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said 13 of the 150 hostages it seized in Israel were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. There were also foreigners among them, but their nationality was not announced. There was no confirmation from the IDF or the Israeli army; it stated that it was investigating the information received.
