Finally, KTEL buses from Kifissos will move to "new house"

The new KTEL station in Eleonas will be fantastically impressive and will become a new intercity transport hub in the capital.

Previously, two ΚΤΕΛ stations were located in Lyosion and Kifissos. And now they will pass the baton to the Central Intercity Bus Station (ΚΣΥΛ), which will be built in the Eleonas district.

As carandmotor.gr reported, the first decisive step towards the construction of a new station was taken in May last year, when the Ministry of Environment and Energy approved the technical and environmental conditions for the project.

The new station will combine the services of the two existing stations and will stand out both for its cutting-edge appearance (which will resemble an airport) and for the quality and scope of services of the highest standard. It is estimated that 40,000 passengers will be served daily.

ΚΣΥΛ in Eleonas, whose total cost will be more than 100 million euros and which is estimated to be completed two years after the start of work, is planned to be built on a plot of land with an area of ​​66,420 m2 located on the border of the municipality of Egaleo.

The basis of ΚΣΥΛ Eleonas will be 4 buildings, which, among other things, will provide bus parking, as well as exhibition areas, a hotel, a conference center, etc.

According to the architectural design, the KTEΛ building complex will consist of the following buildings:

Building A

There are parking lots/platforms for the national bus lines KTEΛ (on two levels +25.70 and +37.40), parking for private cars and a hotel block accompanying the station.

Building B

This is the reception center for passengers and visitors to the station. It includes the main arrivals and departures hall, commercial services/shops, dining areas, conference center and exhibition areas.

Building C

A garage for international buses will be located here.

Building D (auxiliary)

Laundry and bus repair shop.
