Elena Zelenskaya’s apartment is up for auction


In Crimea, the Yalta “nationalized” apartment of Elena Zelenskaya, the wife of the President of Ukraine, was put up for auction.

Russian authorities valued it at 24.6 million rubles. The corresponding lot has already appeared on the GIS Trading website, writes publication “Crimea.Realities”:

“Subject of the auction: property located at the address: Republic of Crimea, Yalta, Livadia township, st. Baturina, 44 A, apt. 501. The total initial minimum cost is 24,642,490 rubles.”

The Kommersant publication clarifies that the auction step when bidding for a living space of 119.5 sq.m is 1.2 million rubles. The auction is scheduled for October 30, with bids closing on October 26.

Vladimir Konstantinov, speaker of the Russian parliament in Crimea, said on September 16 that the first “nationalized” properties belonging to Ukrainian citizens in Crimea were being put up for sale. Notices for the sale of four more residential premises, valued at approximately 27 million rubles, have been posted at public auctions.

Previously, he said that Kremlin-controlled deputies voted for the “nationalization” of Zelenskaya’s apartment and the Mejlis building in Simferopol. The list also included the property of Ukrainian banks and industrial enterprises, wine production, a children’s camp and other objects.

The Russian head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, stated that in Crimea they intend to finance Russia’s war against Ukraine with money from the sale of “property of Ukrainian businessmen.”

At the same time, the permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Tamila Tasheva, stated that Ukraine does not intend to recognize acts that violate human or state rights. These include decisions on “nationalization” or confiscation of property, and on establishing inheritance.
