Greek village included in the top ten most beautiful in Europe according to UNESCO


A comprehensive advertising program to promote the tourist destinations of Nympheu (Western Macedonia) and Pelister Park (Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia) is implemented by EOT as part of the cooperation “AdvenTOUR, adventures across borders”.

The tourism program under consideration promotes and supports the development of two destinations as models for the development of sustainable alternative tourism activities in outback, natural oases that can attract visitors throughout the year.

Nymphaeum in Western Macedonia is one of the ten most beautiful villages in Europe according to UNESCO, and Pelister National Park, located in the southwestern part of North Macedonia, is a magnet for travelers seeking outdoor activities.

The goal of the “AdvenTOUR, Adventure across the borders” program is to highlight two regions that are less than two hours apart, as a single cross-border tourism destination, with the conditions to support the local economy through the creation of a new tourism product.

Nymphaeum (Νυμφαίο) in Western Macedonia is one of the ten most beautiful villages in Europe according to UNESCO. In particular, EOT conducted a study of the two destinations, their main tourism resources and potential with the aim of developing new tourism experiences, as well as developed attractive audio-visual content and a special attraction brochure for the visitor.

As part of the program, EOT also organized two study tours (29.09-01.010.23) with the participation of journalists, travel agents, travel bloggers and providers from Greece, the Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria. Participants visited both sites (Nymphaeum and Pelister), became acquainted with the mountaineering facilities in Pelister Park and visited Χ.Α.Ν.Θ in Nymphaeum.

The media delegation took a canoe ride on Lake Zazari, visited the sites of the Arcturos program (Organization for the Protection of Bears and Wildlife), the old town of Bitola, as well as the Alpha estate.

The guests were accompanied by EOT officials who briefed them on the strategy to promote the country as an ideal destination for travelers seeking unforgettable wildlife experiences.
