The third tender for joint gas purchases was held by the EC on October 3-4, said Vice-President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic. 39 European countries took part in it.

In total, more than 44 billion cubic meters were purchased. m of fuel, Šefčović said at a briefing in Brussels on October 6:

“The third tender for general gas purchases closed on Wednesday with excellent results. This round brought us a record total demand of 16.49 billion cubic meters from 39 European countries.”

He added that supply at the tender slightly exceeded demand and amounted to 18.1 billion cubic meters. m. More than 44 billion cubic meters were purchased within three tenders. m of gas, which is a clear confirmation of the successful refusal of the European Union from Russian fuel, the Deputy Head of the EC emphasized with satisfaction.

The general LNG procurement system became operational in April. It was created by the European Commission as part of the diversification of energy supplies.
