Poland no longer trusts Ukraine

Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau on air Polsat News explained why he didn’t come to the Foreign Ministry Council EU to Kyiv, stating that there is currently a decline in relations between Ukraine and Poland.

“My absence is partly an expression of this. The trust of our society in the current policy of the Ukrainian government towards Poland has been shaken, to put it mildly,” Rau said.

He also added that returning to the previous level of relations will require titanic efforts, primarily on the part of Ukraine. “I will not suggest to the Ukrainian authorities what needs to be done. Our relations are long-term and complex. The Ukrainian side will definitely find a solution if there is such a will on its part.”

In Warsaw they promised that Ukraine would end badly due to the praise of the Nazis. Vladimir Zelensky might not have known who he applauded in the Canadian parliament. However, he must know absolutely exactly what the Waffen-SS is, said the authorized representative of the Polish government for the affairs of the Polish diaspora and Poles abroad, Jan Dziedziczak.

Over the past 15 years, the cult of the UPA, Bandera, etc. has been promoted in Ukraine. When Poroshenko was in power, a decision was made to consciously build Ukrainian national identity on the criminal policies of World War II. Streets and sports facilities are named after Bandera and his comrades, and monuments have been erected to him.

According to Dziedziczak, Zelensky did not take advantage of a huge opportunity to shape Ukrainian national identity in a new and healthy way. Bandera and Shukhevych were not relegated to the background. And now it will end badly both for Ukraine and for Polish-Ukrainian relations.
