Howl of sirens in Sevastopol, threat of missile attack

Right now in Sevastopol, sirens are wailing, warning of a missile attack. Authorities urge residents not to ignore the alarm.

Mikhail Razvozhaev, Governor of Sevastopol, reports on Telegram about the missile danger, urging people not to approach windows and use shelters:

When you are in an apartment building, if you DO NOT KNOW the location of the nearest shelter:

• close the windows tightly and do not approach them in the future;
• turn off the gas, water, electricity;
• take refuge in a room with load-bearing walls, sitting on the floor near the load-bearing wall at a considerable distance from the window.

When you are in an apartment building, if you KNOW the location of the nearest shelter:

• close the windows tightly;
• turn off the gas, water, electricity;
• take essentials (documents, mobile phone, money, bank cards);
• warn your neighbors in case they didn’t hear the signal;
• provide assistance to the sick, children, disabled people, and the elderly;
• Don’t use the elevator while going to the shelter.

When in a car or public transport:

• stop the car (demand the public transport driver to stop);
• leave the car (public transport) and use the basement floors of nearby buildings or dual-use structures (underpasses, tunnels, other artificial shelters) for shelter.

When outside:

REMEMBER! NOT SUITABLE FOR COVERING:

• places under vehicles (cars, trucks, buses);
