Poros: two Turks arrested for espionage are free

Two Turks arrested in Poros for espionage have been released on bail of 10 thousand euros. Both men, 48 and 58 years old, appeared before a prosecutor at the Piraeus courthouse, who referred them to an investigating judge in the espionage case. They asked and received until today to answer the charges.

Both Turkish citizens traveled to Greece on motorcycles using their real names. At 7:30 a.m. on September 15, they checked into a hotel in Poros and flew the drone over a naval training center the next morning.

About two hours later they boarded a ship and set off for Galata. They were arrested on Sunday afternoon in Monemvasia when they went to sit in the restaurant of the hotel where they were staying.

Earlier, the commander of the training center, who discovered the movement, contacted the Poros police station, reporting that a drone had been flying over the training center for 10 minutes.
