Two tankers did not miss each other in the Suez Canal and collided, one of them with liquefied natural gas.
The incident is reported on the social network X (formerly Twitter) by the vessel tracking service Marine Traffic: “Marine Traffic received an eyewitness report in the Suez Canal that two tankers collided.”
How informs TASS agency, we are talking about the tanker Burri from the Cayman Islands and BW Lesmes, which sailed under the flag of Singapore and transported liquefied natural gas.
According to Marine Traffic, the Burri tanker turned sideways on August 22 and collided with the BW Lesmes, which was already on the side, at 20:40 GMT (23:40 Moscow time). The administration of the Suez Canal reported that they began to tow the ship, which was out of order.
Navigation on the Suez Canal in Egypt is not disrupted after the collision of two tankers, transmits Reuters, citing two sources in shipping companies based in the country.
