A healthy baby girl was born to a woman right in the midst of an emergency evacuation of the Alexandroupolis University Hospital. It all happened on Monday night, August 21st.
During the catastrophic fire, the evacuation of the hospital began. It was at this point that one of the newly arrived patients went into labor. As it became known, the demolition woman left her house (located in the fire zone) and, accompanied by police rescuers, arrived at the Alexandroupolis University Hospital.

There, the woman was put into an ambulance along with a midwife and a gynecologist. According to the ERT channel, they headed to the area of Didimotiho, as the Alexandroupoli hospital had already begun the evacuation process by decision of the Deputy Minister of Health, Marios Themistocleous. The midwife of the hospital, Maria Stylu, who was in the ambulance with the woman in labor, told about this in an interview with the SKY TV channel. On the way, somewhere around 4 o’clock in the morning, the woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
