Tornado on the beach of Halkidiki – four injured

A sudden storm in Halkidiki swept across the beach in Nea Playa, causing destruction and damage to infrastructure.

One of the four victims, a 19-year-old boy, was taken to Polygyrosas General Hospital with possible fractures, three others received minor injuries – ambulance staff helped them on the spot.

A sudden storm hit shortly before 11:00. Within minutes, the tornado turned everything upside down.

According to eyewitnesses, a strong wind that lasted several seconds turned around and created a tornado, as a result of which umbrellas, sunbeds and other things were lifted from the beach into the air. There was panic among the people writes newsbeast.gr.
