Based on the results of these inspections, 336 violations were identified regarding:
- excess of the occupied area outside the leased area,
- occupying the beach area without concluding a formal lease agreement (unauthorized use).
Sanctions imposed, depending on the severity of the violation, by local real estate agencies include: fines, removal of umbrellas, demolition of arbitrary buildings within the common embankment and beach area, breaking agreements with tenants.

However, it should be noted fines for unauthorized use of the beach or violation of the conditions insignificantfor example, in Rhodes and Mykonos, and correspond to only a minimal part of the profit from the work of illegal enterprises.
According to the Ministry of Finance, “all heads of competent services were mobilized, who were urgently called to work (having canceled vacations). This was done in order to conduct timely inspections of the maximum possible number of beach tenants. Inspections are carried out, including on complaints filed by citizens.”
