Police officer "rented out" criminals… office radio receiver

A serious case of cooperation between a police officer and criminals revealed an internal investigation ΕΛΑΣ.

According to iEidiseis, this morning, August 7, the chief of police was arrested, who is accused of “surrendering” his office radio to Roma under criminal investigation. By order of the prosecutor, the house of the head of security, where he was detained, was searched by ΕΛΑΣ.

The investigation began when information appeared in the ΕΛΑΣ structures that police transmissions (radio communications) were being monitored.

A particular police officer served in the security department of Western Attica, in addition to criminal prosecution, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him.

The last time a similar case of “renting” an official radio to criminals was revealed in June 2021. Then a case was initiated against a police officer, who was accused of having handed over the radio for 2,000 euros to criminals, gangsters engaged in thefts in houses.
