Flooding, typhoon and extreme heat in Asia (video)

Extreme weather hit Asian countries. Taiwan froze in anticipation of Typhoon Hanoon, South Korea suffers from the heat, and the number of flood victims in China has increased again.

We can safely call the manifestations of extreme weather Asia’s “strength test”. Typhoon Hanun, raging in the southern islands of Japan, will soon come to Taiwan. Forecasters predict strong winds, speeds of more than 160 km / h, and heavy rains there.

China is trying to cope with the consequences of Typhoon “Doksun”, which led to destruction in the capital of the country and the province of Hebei adjacent to Beijing. At least 21 people died as a result of the flood caused by the heaviest rains in the last 140 years.

Hundreds of buses were suspended in Beijing, subways were disrupted, and dozens of flights were canceled, according to the state news agency Xinhua.

Beijing authorities issued a red alert for heavy rainfall on Sunday and raised it to the highest level on Monday for flooding, state media reported. Authorities are warning millions of people to stay at home.

IN South Korea people are turning to doctors en masse for help due to a sharp rise in temperature. More than a hundred people in the country suffered heatstroke at the World Scouts’ Rally. And mercury thermometers are not going to drop – they are confidently showing 30 and above, which prompted the country’s authorities, for the first time in four years, to announce the highest, “serious” level of alarm warning about hot weather.

Experts are confident that climate records around the world are associated with global warming and weather phenomenon El Nino. This is the largest natural climatic event on the planet – a periodic rise in water temperatures in the South Pacific, which triggers a number of other phenomena along the chain. Signs of this phenomenon were noted as early as the end of the 18th century. It attracted great attention in the late 90s of the last century, when its consequences were especially strong. The last time this phenomenon was recorded in 2014. The biggest climate event has been linked to rising temperatures, droughts, abnormally warm winters and outbreaks of tropical diseases.
