A couple of foreigners booked accommodation in Paros and Santorini, deciding to combine business with pleasure.
The attackers had a good time on vacation, breaking into rented houses and tourist sites along the way. The two foreigners committed a total of nine thefts in the Greek islands, five in Paros and four more in Santorini in ten days.
According to the police department of Thera, in cooperation with colleagues from the island of Paros, it was possible to identify the criminals who operated in Paros and Santorini from June 25 to July 6.
Two foreigners who stole money, valuables and the contents of safes, as well as personal belongings of vacationers, were seen early Wednesday morning on the island of Paros, where they were detained. They were in possession of items identified as stolen, as well as a large amount of cash.
A criminal case has been initiated against the thieves. The accused of committing thefts were brought to the prosecutor’s office of the first instance of Naxos. The investigation into their criminal activities continues, as it is considered possible that the couple “successfully traded” on other islands.
