Shock forecast: on July 27, the temperature will rise to 48 ° C

A shocking forecast was made by the Greek meteorologist Dimitris Papaioannou, who said that next week the air temperature in some parts of Athens would reach 48 ° C.

As the meteorologist told Action 24 about the fire fronts, the wind has turned from north to south, and therefore it sets fire to places that remain unburned. He sounded the alarm for more fires as the next heatwave is expected to peak over the weekend, with areas like Thebes, Livadia in Central Greece and Argos in the Peloponnese likely to reach 45C.

It will also be very hot at night, with the thermometer reading above 30 degrees. The meteorologist says it will blow on Sunday dry northwest wind, which carries an increased risk for fires. According to Papaioannu, the worst day of three consecutive heat waves will be next Thursday, 27 Julyand, as he said, the air temperature is likely to reaches 48°С!

In any case, starting next Wednesday, the temperature is expected to rise again, – third heat wave the maximum values ​​​​of which will be from 44 to 47 ° C.

Which areas have turned into a “furnace” today

According to the network of automatic weather stations of the National Observatory of Athens / Meteo.gr, today the maximum temperatures were very high, exceeding 40°C in many areas.

55 meteorological stations recorded maximum temperatures above 40°С, and at 6 of them the maximum exceeded 42°С. The maximum temperature was recorded in Larisa and amounted to 42.3°C.
