At 13:00 on July 13, 2023, a 30-year-old Estonian living in Finland and temporarily staying in Faliraki appeared before the local police department and sued the vicar of the monastery, whose name he did not know, for insulting his sexual dignity.
According to the young man, the day before he went with a girlfriend on an excursion to a local Greek monastery, but then returned there to pick up a crucifix, which he forgot, the publication reports. Dimokrati News.
When the tourist returned to the monastery, the priest told him that he had a “special gift” for him in another room, the newspaper reported. According to the Estonian, the priest invited him to a separate room. Once there, said the tourist, who initially thought the intercourse was a routine procedure, the priest asked him to take off his clothes to “anoint” his genitals with consecrated oil.
Embarrassed by the situation, the tourist didn’t ask the priest to stop when he started massaging his body with oil. However, after some thought, the very next day, he filed a complaint with the police. Justifying his actions, the priest told the police that he noticed the tourist had a rash and decided to grant him God’s help in getting rid of it.
The publication reports that the case was subsequently transferred to the prosecutor’s office of the District Court of Rhodes for further consideration and investigation.
