“Crowded” European attractions

The Internet portal The Thinkig Traveler called the sights in Europe, where among the tourists there is literally “nowhere to fall”.

The ranking of the most crowded European attractions was compiled by specialized review aggregators and social networks using the keywords: “too busy”, “too crowded”. All European countries were considered, especially Greece, Spain and Italy, and crowded beaches took their place in the ranking.

In the top ten attractions that most often receive the review “crowded”, half were British. Even in the top three, two attractions are located in the UK. Edinburgh Castle in Scotland is recognized as the busiest. In second place is Buckingham Palace, in third is Siam Park in Tenerife. The complete list looks like this:

  • Edinburgh Castle, Scotland
  • Buckingham Palace, England
  • Siam Park, Tenerife, Spain
  • Grand Canal, Venice, Italy.
  • Roman Baths, Bath, England
  • Tower of London, England
  • Louvre, Paris, France
  • Acropolis, Athens, Greece
  • British Museum, London, England
  • Musee d’Orsay, Paris, France.

When considering the “most touristic” countries, the result was as follows:

  1. In Italy, the top three were the Grand Canal in Venice, the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum.
  2. In Spain, besides a park in Tenerife, there are two famous attractions in Barcelona on the list, with the Sagrada Familia losing second place to the Boquería market.
  3. In Greece, most tourists are not only on the Acropolis, but also in the ancient villages on Rhodes and the Parthenon (part of the Acropolis).

Among the most crowded beaches are Greek Elafonisi on Crete, Bournemouth beach in the UK and Fig Tree beach, well known to Russian tourists, in the Cypriot resort of Protaras, writes GreekReporter.
