What does the golden ribbon lighting on the Greek Parliament mean?


As part of the events held under the auspices of the “World Childhood and Adolescent Cancer Month”, the Greek Parliament building was illuminated with the “Golden Ribbon” symbol on the evening of September 14.

According to the World Health Organization, Every year, 400,000 children and adolescents aged 0 to 19 years are diagnosed with some form of cancer. In Greece, 350 children fall ill every year, which is about one child per day.

As noted, in September of this year Greece will host campaign to inform and raise public awareness about methods of diagnosis and treatment of cancer in children and adolescents.

As stated in the parliament’s press release, the initiative to promote the social campaign belongs to the city’s non-profit company “Karkinaki – Enema of the Environment and the Environment”. Thematic campaigns and events are carried out in cooperation with “WinCancer”.
