The Ministry of Environment and Energy recommends a number of measures to consumers to ensure the safety and adequacy of the electricity supply system during heat waves.
Under extreme conditions, the ministry said in a statement, consumer participation can play an important role in reducing the load on the power supply system and ensuring its stability under extreme operating conditions. Active and knowledgeable energy consumers are also key players in the transition to green energy.
What is recommended:
- We operate energy-intensive electrical appliances (washing machine, iron, oven, etc.) preferably during the daytime (14:00 – 18:00), when there is a lot of electricity from photovoltaics.
- We set the temperature of the air conditioners to + 26 ° C (not lower).
- Close windows and balcony doors while the air conditioner is running.
What to avoid:
- As far as possible, the use of energy-consuming electrical appliances (washing machine, iron, oven, etc.) from 20:00 to 22:00. During this two hour period, the power supply system is testedas demand for electricity peaks and photovoltaic production dries up.
- As much as possible, we avoid turning on air conditioners from 20:00 to 22:00.
- Do not forget about the lights on or devices in standby mode (turn them off).
The application of the above, according to the announcement of the ministry, in extreme weather conditions makes a decisive contribution to saving energy and preventing any problems with electricity, ensuring the health, safety and uninterrupted supply of energy to all citizens.
