Only a few days have passed since the death of a 52-year-old man in Peristeri and a woman in Lesbos, who died on the beach of Gavatas while waiting for an ambulance from Kalloni.
Shortly thereafter, it became known that a 76-year-old Mantoudi man in Evia died of the same cause, as there was no ambulance there, and he was taken by a private ambulance, but it was too late!
As a result of the waiting, the death of the woman when she arrived at Andissa, and that of the man when he arrived at Mantoudio, was simply stated. All this happened almost a month after the tragic death 63 year old woman in Kos, who ended up in the back of a truck as there was no ambulance to take her to the hospital. And at the same time, there was another case where a 19-year-old pregnant woman died in Nea Makri, as there was also no ambulance there.
In general, it is about five deaths one month for the same reason! The ambulance service is facing a tragic shortage and all we can say is “God help us”…
