On Monday, July 10, the summer sales season will begin in Greece, which will last until Wednesday, August 31, according to the Business and Retail Association.
On Sunday, July 16, stores will be open across the country from 11:00 to 20:00. “Both during the sales and store openings on July 16, retailers will be showcasing a wide range of their products at extremely attractive and competitive prices,” SELPE said in a statement.
Businesses are trying to make the most of the discount season. At the same time, the management of stores gives priority to the elimination of stocks in warehouses in order to fulfill their financial obligations.
As a reminder, in accordance with the provision of Law 4933/2022, under the price before the discount is the lowest price applied by the merchant for a period of at least 30 days before the price reduction is applied. The same provision provides that if the product is on the counter for less than thirty days, the previous price is the lowest price indicated for the product during the last 10 days before the start of the sales season. In case of violation of the above provision, a fine of up to 4% of the total business turnover is provided.
