Prominent Greek lawyer Apostolos Lytras made shocking statements about the activities of the Greek mafia. Speaking on the TV show “The Truth with Zina”, he spoke about the relationship of the mafia with politicians, businessmen, policemen and journalists.
“For the operation of these schemes, people who are beyond suspicion, businessmen, people who have money, journalists, government officials, politicians are needed,” he said. He went on to note that police officers are also involved in these schemes, who are covered at the very top: “There are people in high positions who handle these cases and provide freedom of movement for the commission of crimes.”
Litras’ statements are related to newsbreak.gr’s revelations about the contract killings of two journalists, Stefanos Chios And Kostas Vaksevanis, behind which was either a media man who had a relationship with both journalists, or a high-ranking – now murdered – mafioso. A well-known lawyer also hinted at linking the murder of a well-known journalist Georgios Karaivaz with murders Vasilisa Rubetes and Dimitris Muzakitiswho were shot last week in the Korydallos area.
At the same time, the revelations of Mr. Litras seem to be confirmed by the participation of a businessman Giannis Alafouzos, since the convicted killer was driving an armored car provided by the company EDISIS DOT KOM since 2010, owned by the above-mentioned oligarch. According to Mr. Litras, the case is “serious” and the businessman will have to give a convincing explanation for what happened.
