Ukraine attacked a Russian Navy ship in the Black Sea with drones

Information about the attack on the Russian reconnaissance vessel “Ivan Khurs” was reported by the Russian media and later confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“Ukrainians attacked the Russian Navy ship Ivan Khurs with naval drones in the area of the Bosphorus,” the Russian Defense Ministry said at noon. “The enemy used three drones.” The Russians claim that they were all destroyed. According to them, the attack took place early this morning (05:30) by drones in the waters of the Black Sea, after the Russian Navy ship crossed the Bosphorus.

In a statement released on messaging app Telegram, the ministry said the warship was protecting the TurkStream and BlueStream gas pipelines, which carry gas from Russia to Turkey, partly across the Black Sea.

Three drones were reportedly involved in the attack. It is reported that the sailors of the Russian Navy “managed to successfully repel the attack, and the ship was not injured.”

Russian reconnaissance ship “Ivan Khurs” was attacked early this morning (05:30) by drones in the Black Sea after passing through the Bosporus, Russian media reported. Three maritime drones were reportedly involved in the attack. It is reported that the sailors “managed to successfully repel the attack, and the ship did not receive any damage.” And in the morning, traffic on the Kerch bridge was already blocked. According to the occupation authorities, the blockade is allegedly connected with the exercises. Currently, there is smoke in the area of the bridge.

The Ukrainians allegedly used maritime drones with a range of up to 1,000 km. Previously, similar maritime drones were used to attack ships in the port of Sevastopol in Crimea. Now the Russian ship continues to fulfill its duties, the Russian Defense Ministry specified.

US Air Force RQ4 Global Hawk FORTE10 and RQ-4D Phoenix MAGMA10 drones are heading towards the Bosphorus, where the Russian reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs was allegedly attacked.

Probably, it was with their help that naval drones were guided to a Russian warship. It is not yet known how Turkey will react to this attack, because if the information is confirmed, it turns out that the drones “encroached” on TurkStream and BlueStream.
