A primary school teacher in an Athens school showed 10-year-old children an erotic film promoting homosexuality.

The case gained publicity when the parents of one of the students in that class noticed a drastic change in his behavior as he was confused by what he saw in the film. The child told his parents about the incident, and the case was taken to court.

According to the newspaper Democracy, who was given the details of the complaint and solved the case, in an elementary school in Athens, a teacher decided to show her students an erotic film praising homosexuality. The film contained scenes of 12-year-old boys having sex in a closet.

The shocked parents protested against the anti-pedagogical format of the film, as well as against the propaganda of homosexuality among minors.

As the parents noted,the screening of the film was held without the slightest interdisciplinary approach or their prior information “about such sensitive, important and burning issues”.

The applicants, through their lawyer, filed an out-of-court protest against the troubles with the director of the school, elementary education and the ministry to advise whether the film was becoming “educationalally approved and pedagogically compatible with the ministry of education”. They also demanded disciplinary control over the teacher’s initiative to show such a film.

Mr. Katsivardas Charalambos, the lawyer for the family, spoke about this case on the website, explaining that the problem was not even homosexuality, but that the screening of this particular film of erotic content was carried out without the slightest interdisciplinary approach or prior information about such sensitive important and sensitive issues.

“The child returned home and was in a bad psychological state, the parents paid attention to this to find out what happened. The child, who is 10 years old and is in the 4th grade, became a viewer of the film, which was shown at the initiative of the teacher and was about homosexual inclinations. In a movie called Boys in the Shower, teenage boys have sex while taking a shower. And also in the movie there is a coach who tells them to be men and be tougher.

Obviously, this shocked the child. After that, some parents protested, and later the child’s parents reported the incident, and we took appropriate action. On Friday, May 19, we notified the principal, the elementary school, and the Ministry of Education of the incident to report the incident.
