Youth Pass: get a voucher for 150 euros

The Youth Pass, i.e. the €150 youth voucher, is now a permanent feature.

The Youth Pass is one of three new support measures that were introduced by Kyriakos Mitsotakis during an event in Elefsina ahead of the elections.

According to the Prime Minister: “We support our young people aged 18 and 19 by providing them with an amount of 150 euros per year, which they can spend on travel or cultural activities. Thus, at the same time, we are strengthening the Greek economy.”

Young people who turn 18 and 19 are Youth Pass beneficiaries. This is about 200 thousand citizens. The budgetary cost of the social assistance program will amount to 30 million euros.

According to the information Youth Pass can be used in tourism and cultural enterprises, as well as in transport. In essence it will digital debit card, same as Freedom Pass.

According to the government’s plan, the Youth Pass will be issued through an application that will need to be submitted digitally on the vouchers.gov.gr platform. The beneficiary enters there with the Taxisnet codes and within a few hours receives an SMS and an email with information about the issuance and use of the Youth Pass, which also has an expiration date.

The Youth Pass can only be used in Greece. The voucher is accepted in all stores like credit and debit cards. It is expected to be used in the following transactions:

• buy air tickets
• rent a car
• pay for hotel/hotel accommodation
• buy a train ticket
• take a taxi ride
• buy a bus ticket (intercity traffic)
• maritime transport / coastal ferries
• rent a boat
• purchase a ticket at a travel agency
• pay for stay in recreation and sports camps, camping
• buy movie tickets
• pay for classes in dance halls, schools, studios
• buy theater tickets, go to a concert
• visit an exhibition, tourist attractions, museums
• pay for other services in the field of leisure and entertainment.
