The price of diesel fuel fell below 1.4 euros per liter

The reduction in prices, which reached 5% in just 24 hours, was recorded by world oil prices, and liquid fuel prices at Greek gas stations are already demonstrating a downward trend.

The price of Brent crude is now trading in the $75 per barrel area after a spectacular drop in just 24 hours.

Losses in the price of “black gold” in just one day reached 5%, despite the fact that significant cuts in daily crude oil production by OPEC+ countries have already been implemented.

The sudden drop in world oil prices, according to analysts, is due to the international economic situation and, in particular, to the signs of a recession presented by one of the largest markets on the planet.

This is about China and released new data that show that in March, the country’s economy contracted.

This event, combined with information that the U.S. Federal Reserve wants to keep raising interest rates again, sent the price of crude oil back below the psychological $80/bbl level and very close to its lowest level in 12 years. .

While world crude oil prices are declining, in Greece there is a trend towards de-escalation of prices for liquid fuels.

At some gas stations located in Attica, the price unleaded gasoline is even slightly lower than 1.7 euros per liter, while diesel fuel is sold at even lower prices.

In particular, diesel fuel is already sold in Attica for 1.397 euros/liter, while the average selling price in Greece as a whole as of May 1 is 1.596 euros/liter.

In fact, at several gas stations in the country, the difference between diesel and unleaded petrol is reaches even 40 euro cents per liter, which creates an imbalance in the liquid fuel market.

The spread in prices between the two types of fuel is associated both with different taxation regimes and with the ever-decreasing demand for oil, which has led to reduce its price at gas stations throughout Europe.
