Many residents of Greece have already managed to look into the calendar in order to find out when the next three-day weekend will be and you can “rush off” out of town.
The next day of rest for most workers is May Day, which this year “falls” on Monday (May 1), thus providing a three-day weekend.
May Day, in principle, refers to optional (optional) holidays and, in essence, historically is nothing more than a strike of workers.
However, by decision of the Minister of Employment of Greece, the day appointed annually as a public holiday on the basis of Article 1 A.N. 380/68. In particular, the involvement of workers and the activities of enterprises are prohibited, with the exception of those that legally work on Sundays and holidays. For example, such as institutions in the field of healthcare, tourism, transport, continuous services, etc.
