Shipyards Scaramanga sold for 37 million euros

Contract for the sale of real estate with a total area of 332 thousand m2 in the area of the shipyards Scaramangas signed between ETAD SA and the applicant company “Milina Enterprises Company Limited” in the interests of the shipowner Giorgos Prokopiou.

As highlighted, the sale of ETAD’s property to the highest bidder paved the way for investments that are of immediate government priority and of great national importance to the Greek economy, marking the reopening of the Skaramangas shipyards, the resumption of shipbuilding and repair activities in our country.

“With the transfer of ownership to a new investor, ETAD has successfully completed a cycle of hard work that began in 2019 with the transfer of initial ownership to its portfolio, continued with the real estate exchange between ETAD and HINAE, the separation of the operating license to create an independent and functional shipyard, and the final holding of a fully successful international electronic open tender in 2021, which attracted the attention of leading investors,” notes ETAD.

With the completion of the tender and the selection of Milina Enterprises Company Limited as a contractor with a bid of EUR 37,316,041.88, increased by 22% from the starting price of the tender, a successful pre-contractual audit of the Accounts Chamber was carried out. Then, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, Scaramanga was transferred to the new owner of the structure to accommodate immigrants and refugees – from state ownership to the ownership of a new investor.

Authorized Advisor and Acting Director General of ETAD SA Panagiotis Balomenos said on this occasion: “Today, with the signing of this contract, we have been able to complete a cycle of many intermediate successful actions to give new life to the Scaramanga shipyard, making a significant contribution to the economic development of the region and the whole country. This use, one of the largest in recent years, with significant multiplier advantages, demonstrates the efforts of ETAD services and leaders, the collective cooperation with all agencies involved, as well as the key role played by our company, a superfund member company, in the use of the private real estate of the Greek state. “.

Immediately after the completion of the sale of the property, Mr. Procopiou stated for his part: “The completion of the handover of the Scaramanga shipyards now provides an opportunity to implement our plans for the benefit of the local community and the entire country. The cooperation of the authorities involved is a prerequisite for success. I want to congratulate and thank the Ministry of Finance and ETAD for the flawless implementation of the entire process, with full transparency and know-how.”
