Telephone conversation between the Prime Minister of Greece and the President of Ukraine

Kyriakos Mitsotakis assured Volodymyr Zelensky over the phone of supporting Ukraine for as long as necessary.

President of Ukraine and Greek Prime Minister telephone conversation On Monday, they discussed the situation at the front and further assistance to Greece in the war with Russia, the press services of both countries report.

Zelensky tweeted about the conversation, noting that he told Mitsotakis about the situation on the battlefield and current defense challenges for Ukraine. He said that they agreed to continue cooperation in the field of security.

IN press release office of the head of the Greek government reported:

“The Prime Minister reaffirmed Greece’s firm position in support of Ukraine and its right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”

Kyriakos Mitsotakis “stressed that Greece will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary,” recalling that from the very beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Athens provided humanitarian and defense support to Kiev, and also joined the sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Mitsotakis and Zelensky exchanged Easter wishes.

The conversation between the two leaders took place a few days after visit Oleksiy Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, to Greece, following which Athens announced the dispatch of another batch of BMP-1, 73-mm rockets, artillery ammunition and rifles.

Earlier it was reported that Greece could transfer its S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, but only if the United States deploys its Patriot air defense systems in Crete instead.
