Brutal crime in Thessaloniki: 34-year-old son arrested for killing his mother

The case of the murder of a woman who was found dead in a car in the area of ​​Chalcedon in the morning has been solved by the security service of Thessaloniki, as, according to police, her 34-year-old son, who is wanted by the authorities, has been identified as the perpetrator.

According to local media reports, the 71-year-old woman was known to the authorities because she was engaged in the sale of drugs: she managed to sit in prison and be released from custody. She was found dead in a passenger car in the Chalcedon area in Thessaloniki prefecture. The white car, which was rented, was behind the building of the Department of Agriculture, not far from the cemetery.

The vehicle was discovered by an Agricultural Department officer around 7:45 am. How it happened, he told reporters.

According to Voria.gr, the man saw the abandoned car and immediately called the police, because, according to him, stolen cars are sometimes left in this place. He explained that he was frightened and did not approach the car, but immediately called the police.

The victim was shot with a gun at such close range that the woman’s skull was blown to pieces. The police at first glance at the body thought she had been beheaded.

Police officers of Thessaloniki had previously searched the son’s house, located in the Chalcedon area. According to the same information, financial motives are the most likely cause of the crime. The police entered the house in the presence of the prosecutor, breaking the glass of the front door. Investigators have collected various items that will be transferred to forensic laboratories.

They also searched a car believed to be the man’s, without license plates and parked a few meters from the house. According to his close friend, he disappeared and does not answer calls, no one from the area has seen him in recent hours.

The information that it was a gypsy family, as reported by the media, was not confirmed.
