The policeman could not be prevented from committing suicide (video)

In Thessaloniki, a police officer committed suicide by driving his car into the waters of Thermaikos. A witness to the suicide tried to stop him, but he acted decisively.

Giorgos Pirpiris, who tried to prevent the tragedy, says:

“When he realized that I was going to jump into the water, he handcuffed to the steering wheel. I saw him disappear, and I’m really shocked.”

By information grtimes.gr, Giorgos Pirpiris was the first to rush to the policeman in a desperate attempt to convince him not to commit suicide. However, when he ran to the car, the man behind the wheel purposely opened the door to sink to the bottom faster and used handcuffs to fix his hands on the steering wheel. Mr. Pirpiris still can’t come to his senses:

“I’m shocked by what happened. We saw a car that was driving here in the area of ​​the Concert Hall, and since there are no cars passing here, he tried to get out. At some point, he drove past us – fishermen gather in this place. He exceeded the speed limit, and we asked him to stop, which we do with all drivers, because there are so many speeding. But instead of stopping, he turned right and fell into the sea.”

The man says that immediately after the fall, the windshield of the car broke and remembers every minute of what happened:

“I ran up and saw a young guy with glasses and a beard and begged him to get out. I explained to him that I couldn’t dive because I was in trouble. a police officer who has a serious health problem – brain cancer.I immediately called the police and then I told him that I would dive and began to take off my jacket.When he realized that I was going to dive, he opened the right door to dive faster, and handcuffed his hands. I saw him disappear and I’m really shocked.”

EKAB rescuers, a mobile unit and a coast guard boat arrived at the scene to recover the car. Divers are brought in to find and bring the body of the suicide to the surface.

After the body of the police officer was raised to the surface, a special crane car pulled out a car from the bottom.
