According to clinical psychologist Anna Kandarakis, it is extremely important for the relatives of those who died in the Tempi train accident to find at least something that was left of their loved ones.
In a conversation on the SKY channel, the specialist noted that for “peace of mind, it is extremely important for the relatives of the missing to identify even a small fragment of what could belong to their” blood.
“To have something to certify death… To have something to bury. This is crucial, because burial is very important. From the moment of burial, mourning can begin. If there is no burial, and the relative is considered missing, then the process of mourning (mourning the loss) is not reflected in the brain. Instead, people are in a protracted (and killing) process of tragic waiting. Burial is necessary to move on to the next stage,” said Ms. Kandaraki.
The psychologist stressed that the relatives of the victims need psychological supportwhich should have a system (not a one-time).
As for the accident itself, the specialist stressed that the way it happened “undermines the trust of society. We become beasts that can’t trust anyone.”
