Weather: African dust, mud showers

High unseasonable temperatures will prevail in the coming days, with African dust and muddy rains as the main characteristics of the weather.

On Wednesday, according to the forecast, cloudy weather is expected, and in the mountains of the central and northern mainland, on Evia, as well as in the coastal regions of Thessaly and Chalkidiki, sporadic rains are expected early in the day. From noon, local rains will also take place in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, Sterea, Thessaly, Central and Western Macedonia.

Sporadic storms will occur from noon in the Ionian Sea, Epirus and in the West of the Greek mainland.

In general, the concentration of dust in the atmosphere will increase in the country, and mud rains will occur in some places. Visibility until morning and towards the end of the day will be locally limited.

The temperature, according to the meteorological service of the National Observatory of Athens, will fluctuate in Western Macedonia from 2 to 12 ° C, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 5 to 16 ° C, in Thessaly from 6 to 17 ° C, in Epirus and Central Greece from 8 to 20°С, in the Peloponnese from 6 to 20°С, in the Ionian Islands from 11 to 17°С, in the northern and eastern islands of the Aegean Sea from 7 to 21°С, in the Cyclades from 8 to 20°С, in the Dodecanese from 14 to 22 °С and in Crete from 7 to 23°С.

Winds in the northern part of the Aegean will blow from the northeast with a force of 4 to 6 on the Beaufort scale. In the central Aegean, winds will initially blow from the southeast, with a force of 2 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, but will gradually change to the north, of 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale. In the Dodecanese, winds will initially blow from the south-easterly direction from 3 to 5 Beaufort, but will gradually become from north to east from 2 to 4 Beaufort. In the rest of the South Aegean Sea, winds will blow from the northern directions from 2 to 4 points, and in some places up to 5 points on the Beaufort scale. In the Ionian Sea, winds will blow from the southeast with a force of 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale, but will gradually weaken to 1 from noon.

Weather in Attica and Thessaloniki
Clouds are expected in Attica, temporary and light rains are possible in the north of the prefecture. The wind will be from the north from 2 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The temperature in the center of Athens will range from 12 to 20°C.

In Thessaloniki Prefecture, clouds are expected, with occasional showers. Variable wind up to 3 on the Beaufort scale. Visibility until morning and towards the end of the day will be locally limited. The temperature in the center of Thessaloniki will range from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.
