Grandparents hide granddaughter from her father, a killer pilot

Caroline’s father is indignant: “How will I introduce Babis to Lydia? I’ll say: this impudent creature that killed your mother, ”is that how you imagine it ?!

The father of the murdered Caroline Crouch “cannot stand” her husband Babis Anagostopoulos, who has the audacity to demand communication with his young daughter, and besides, he filed a petition to reduce the sentence for murder.

While in court during the former helicopter pilot’s appeal, Caroline’s father David Crouch criticized his son-in-law, saying, “It’s absolutely disgusting that my daughter’s killer is trying to get his prison sentence reduced because of his ‘good behavior.’ The crime committed by the murderer, femicide, is a heinous act that deserves especially severe punishment. In my opinion, men who kill their wives for any reason are the lowest of the lowest … I think it will be a very sad day for women when the killer of a defenseless woman who slept peacefully with a child and was strangled in her matrimonial bed with her own husband, will serve a reduced prison sentence. He is one of the most inveterate villains.”

Babis Anagnostopoulos’ legal team contends that there were no extenuating circumstances worth considering in the original trial. Human rights activists specifically emphasize that “Babis deceived the police into believing that the family had been the victim of a burglary in their house for six weeks, because I was very worried about my daughter Lydia. That she would be taken away and left alone without anyone to care for her.”

Recall that the court sentenced the killer pilot to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife Caroline Crouch and their beloved dog Roxy.

Babis Anagnostopoulos arrived at the Court of Appeal yesterday in the presence of his new lawyer E. Mavroidis. The court decided to stop the trial and start the actual trial on 28 March. Caroline Crouch’s mother Susan was also present in the courtroom.

David Crouch told the Daily Mail: “The killer tried to move the hearing to 2024 but the judge didn’t agree and it will now continue next month. Babis’ mother still believes in her son’s innocence and tries to portray my beloved daughter as a villain, which I will not tolerate.”

Recall that last month, according to Caroline’s father, Babis Anagnostopoulos killed Caroline because he confessed to her that he was engaged in the trade (transportation) of drugs, after which she threatened to leave him. This is the motive for the murder, not jealousy.

Lydia’s granddaughter is currently being cared for by Caroline’s parents. However, Babis Anagnostopoulos’ parents filed an appeal to overturn the decision.

When asked by the Daily Mail journalists what he would tell Lydia about her father, David replied: “How will I introduce her to him? Is this your father? By the way, he killed your mother, and that’s why you rarely see him? He may look so charming, but in fact he is the last of the villains. Caroline was a professional kickboxer, so her husband had to wait until she was asleep before attacking her.” Mr. Crouch summed up all of the above:Babis is not one of those men that a little girl proudly calls her father..

As Athens News previously wrote, little Lydia left Greece with her grandparents and went to the Philippines in October 2022. They decided to raise the baby abroad because they believe that only away from the murderous father, the little angel will be able to “stand on his feet”. All this time, Babis Anagnostopoulos continues to be in prison for crime committed in Glyka Nera.
