In the city of Patras, in the western Peloponnese, a police operation took place, which resulted in the arrest of six men and one woman involved in armed robberies of banks, post offices and supermarkets.
They are arrested as part of a major police operation that has been ongoing since early morning in the Patras area. During searches of the house, two pistols, 230 grams of dynamite and three hydroponic cannabis bushes were found and seized.
A police investigation, ongoing over the past month, has revealed their involvement in robberies of banks, EL.TA (Greece Post) branches and supermarkets from 2020 to the present.
Those arrested were charged with robbery, grand larceny, drugs, weapons and explosives, and radio frequency violations because they had walkie-talkies tuned to police frequencies. Two more people are wanted, according to police.
It is noteworthy that the police called those arrested members of anti-authoritarian groups, that is, anarchists. Apparently, the arrested members of the anarchist cell collected money for the activities of the party in the traditional way – robberies. To what extent this information is correct, we will find out later.
