Flower-giving robot recognizes 45 human emotions

The Chinese company Xiaomi introduced a walking robot nicknamed Metal Bro (metal bro), whose abilities are comparable to human ones.

The humanoid robot moves perfectly on two legs at a speed of 3.6 km / h, communicates with others, recognizes many emotions and sees the world in three dimensions. His height is 177 cm, weight – 52 kg. The unique brainchild of the Chinese technology company Xiaomi, the humanoid robot CyberOne, was described on August 11 by the publication Yahoo Financedemonstrating his abilities on video.

The presentation featured Metal Bro walking to the center of the stage, where he presented a flower to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and took a selfie with him. The robot is equipped with a face in the form of a curved OLED panel, it is able to hear with two microphones, see the world in 3D and identify 45 emotions by human voice. With the help of thirteen joints, his body is capable of performing 21 movements: the motors of the upper limbs work with an accuracy of 1 Nm, and the legs are driven by motors with a torque of up to 300 Nm.

The company does not plan to bring its brainchild to the market – Xiaomi will use it as a research platform. To date, the cost of the robot is from 89.1 to 104 thousand dollars, so it should take a long time before the company takes up its mass production.
