Suicide and… climate change

Scientists have found a link between climate change and suicide rates.

As writes BB.LV, referring to GeoHealth, the number of suicides due to global warming will increase by 4%. American scientists from the Environmental Protection Agency have discovered the impact of climate change on suicide rates and published their results in the scientific journal GeoHealth.

During the research, experts developed a special model that includes data on the frequency of suicides, forecasts of six climate models and population projections. As it turned out, a warming of just one to six degrees can lead to an increase in the number of suicides by 283-1660 annually, which is 4% more than in 2015.

In August 2022, an international research team led by the University of Cambridge noted that the effects of global warming could be far more catastrophic for all of humanity than previously thought.

Our publication told how the constant attacks and threats to life coming from anti-vaxxers forced a doctor from Austria commit suicide. On August 1, a memorial service was held in front of St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna for 36-year-old Lisa-Maria Kellermayr, an Austrian doctor. She was the victim of threats from pandemic conspiracy theorists and anti-vaccine threats that continued day after day for 7 months.
