A multi-ton trailer crashed into a gas station, causing a fire

On August 1, an emergency occurred in Veria: a tractor truck crashed into a gas station and then caught fire.

Looks like the truck driver stopped for coffee at a pastry shop in Veria. However, his car, somehow released from the handbrake, moved under its own power and crashed into a gas station, sweeping fuel dispensers in its path.

A fire broke out, the gas station was damaged. But fortunately, thanks to a special security system, the fire did not spread to the tanks, and no casualties were reported. Fire engines were called to the scene, cordoned off the area and extinguished the fire.

The 70-year-old truck driver was arrested and charged with reckless arson and traffic violations.
