Replacement of household appliances: one family can replace 3 different appliances

The electronic platform for filing applications for the replacement of energy-intensive electrical appliances is expected to open no later than June 20, yesterday the Minister of Energy said that “the site is almost ready.” The platform will remain open for 15 days to replace around 400,000 electrical appliances.

As Kostas Skrekas specified, the interested parties will fill in only three types of data: VAT number, AMCA and delivery number, i.e. electricity meter number.

The wizard will also fill in the type of device that needs to be replaced (after it has been examined and recognized as working). The rest of the data is filled in automatically.

The applicant will receive an electronic number and go to the store to proceed with the purchase and replacement of the household appliance. When the installer proceeds to remove the previous device, a responsible list is filled out that the device is old and needs to be replaced.

“The subsidy will be deducted from the amount upon purchase and ranges from 35 to 50%, depending on the family income. Our goal is to open the platform by next Monday. The program is intended for households only. The total amount of the grant will be 150 million euros. According to our estimates, from 350,000 to 400,000 devices will be purchased,” the minister added.

As a reminder, there are three types of devices that will be subsidized:

  1. Conditioners.
  2. Refrigerators.
  3. Freezers.

The subsidy does not apply to washing machines, electric stoves, etc.

Possibility to replace up to 3 household appliances

The program will replace between 380,000 and 400,000 old air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers. However, subsidy ceilings will be announced for each device.

Each family can replace up to 3 appliances. However, the following combinations are allowed:

  • 2 air conditioners and refrigerator or
  • 2 air conditioners and freezer or
  • 1 of all.
