Vomiting and diarrhea added to the omicron-strain symptoms

Experts from the World Health Organization have warned that diarrhea and vomiting may be present among the symptoms of the omicron variant of the coronavirus, Medic Forum reports.

Zukhra Pavlova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, endocrinologist, Moscow State University, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov, draws attention to the main symptom of the Omicron-strain of coronavirus – a feeling of fatigue:

Among the main symptoms of omicron, doctors call shortness of breath and shortness of breath, excessive fatigue and muscle pain, headache and runny nose, sore throat. However, some of the sick complain of symptoms that make them “run to the toilet” – diarrhea and vomiting.

Doctors also emphasize that a previously transferred infection with another strain does not protect from omicron, therefore, when symptoms do a screening test and seek help.

“Unfortunately, this symptom cannot be distinguished from ordinary fatigue on our own: in both cases, people complain about the same thing. And then – the art of a doctor who must, after examining the patient and asking questions, understand that this is not just a blues, lack of sunlight or accumulated physical fatigue, but the symptoms of an incipient or progressive disease. ”
